Kentucky Births

Kentucky birth indexes are available from the year 1839. Some baptisms are available from the year 1769 on, which may be the only record available that was created near the birth of the child.

Kentucky Marriages

Indexes for Kentucky marriages are available from the year 1609. Not all marriages will be included in this, but many are. From 1783 on, there may be an actual image of the record available. If the bride was not of legal age yet; these records may also contain a bond for the marriage. These bonds were usually a contract between the woman’s father and her intended spouse. If the father was unavailable, an uncle or older brother may have signed the bond.

Kentucky Deaths

Kentucky death records are from the year 1843 on. Probate may be available in local courthouses. In the event of a Will, these can hold a treasure of information. Oftentimes the spouse and children are listed in a Will.
